Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell was a television personality, a former chef in the Institute of Culinary Education and in the past, she taught cooking. She is the host of the Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef featuring her distinctive spiky blond locks and pumped up personality, reveals easy techniques anyone can be able to master. Chef Burrell has also worked at some of the top restaurants in New York, studied the cuisine and culture of Italy and competed in the Food Network's Iron Chef America. While growing up in the upstate New York area, Chef Burrell found a passion for cooking and food at a young age. The Culinary Institute of America was the next stop for her after she graduated with an Associate of Arts degree in English as well as Communications at Canisius College Buffalo NY. She says "I enjoyed being a Culinary Institute of American student. I thoroughly enjoyed each and every day." It was impossible to study and do enough. Chef Burrell was a graduate of The Culinary Institute for Foreigners in Italy was employed for a year in Umbria at La Taverna del Lupo and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, which is a Michelin-starred restaurant. While in Italy she came to comprehend and appreciate the concept behind Italian culinary and cultural traditions that made a lasting impression on her culinary standpoint. Burrell is an ambassador for the celebrity chef to the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She has served on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that assists kids with disabilities. As a keynote speaker and mentor, she travels around the U.S. to share her love for cooking and career. Anne says she was incredibly fortunate having the opportunity to share her true passion with other people.
