Rita Ora Bio

Rita Ora (British singer-songwriter) is her name. She was born Rita Sahatciu Ora in 1990 in Pristina, Kosovo, to Vera (Bajraktari) and Besnik Sahatciu. Besim Sahatciu is the granddaughter of her mother. Her family relocated to the United Kingdom at age 1. She was born in West London. She attended St Cuthbert with St Matthias CE Primary School in Earls Court. After that she was able to graduate from Sylvia Young Theatre School followed by St Charles Catholic Sixth Form College. She started singing when she was a teenager. In 2004, she was featured in the British film Spivs. She was a contestant on Eurovision The Country That is in need of You on BBC One to be the British contestant for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest but then removed herself from the contest after a few episodes as she was not sure she was ready. Ora released her first single in 2007, when she was featured on Craig David’s song entitled "Awkward" and then she made an appearance in 2008 on "Where’s Your Love" featuring TinchyStryder. Ora began singing in bars around London. A few days after, Ora flew to New York to meet Jay-Z An A&R representative informed Roc Nation about Ora. In 2009, Ora made a cameo in Jay-Z's video for "Young Forever" and "Over" by Drake. Jay-Z was attracted to Ora's talent, and was able to sign her to Roc Nation. In which Ora was part of a commercial for Skullcandy Aviator Headphones. Her father Besnik was a proprietor of a pub and she began her singing career from the same pub. Gwen Stefani was her major influence. Her father was a bar owner , and she began her singing career from the same bar. Kate Moss, Ed Sheeran and their pals.
